was born in Kampala, Uganda, where my mother was teaching English.  I returned to Canada at age 2 and grew up in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.  I completed my Bachelor of Science at Dalhousie University and then went to the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island.  While I loved veterinarian medicine, I found large animals didn’t like me as much as I had hoped and I transferred to medical school at Dalhousie University.  While completing electives in medical school, I realized I could golf in Vancouver in March!  After graduating in 1998, I was lucky enough to be able to do my pediatric residency in Vancouver at BC Children’s Hospital.  I completed my residency in 2002 and went on to complete a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at BC Children’s Hospital in 2005.

I joined the BC Children’s Hospital Department of Gastroenterology in 2005 and worked with them as a clinical assistant professor until 2011.  I have had a practice in North Vancouver since 2005 and see pediatric patients with a full spectrum of gastroenterology concerns.  I have endoscopy privileges at Lions Gate Hospital where I am able to provide endoscopy for children over 13 years of age.  I joined the Department of Pediatrics at Lions Gate Hospital in 2005 and do regular call coverage for the inpatient unit, maternity ward, NICU and emergency department.  I also worked on call at Burnaby General Hospital from 2005 to 2015. 

I am married to Dr. Regan Ebbeson and we have 3 busy children.  I recharge in the trails hiking with our golden retriever and get in a round of golf whenever possible.
